2017 Tazewell Comic Con

The Fourth Annual Comic Con will take place at the Tazewell Main Library on Saturday, June 3, 2017. This FREE (no tickets needed) event is from 10 AM - 4 PM. Join us for a family friendly event. See our website or Facebook Page for more information.

Computer Classes

Beginning June 6th, the Tazewell Main Library will be having computer classes every Tuesday and Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. Different classes will be taught, including Microsoft Word Basics, Introduction to Computers, and How to Make a Gmail Account. Down on the Farm Party

Down on the Farm Night at the Tazewell Library. Come visit the farm animals, eat some chow time snacks, do the barn bean bag toss and more! Fun for the whole family. Rain date is June 15. Magic Show

Three Magic Shows will be held on Tuesday, June 27. This exciting and fun filled event will be the highlight of summer. Everyone will be laughing, clapping, enjoying magic and having a great time.

Summer Reading Logs

Read for fun and win prizes, all summer long, at the library. Stop by the library today and pick up a reading log. Everyone ages birth to 18 should participate. Reading now will prevent the Summer Slide, the loss of reading skills while school is out. Kids that complete four reading logs receive a free ticket to a football game in the fall!

Film Fridays

Beginning June 2nd, the Tazewell Main Library will be hosting a Film Friday, every Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. Each week we will be showing the different movies listed below: 

June 9th: The Great Gatsby (2013), rated PG-13

June 16th: Ghostbuster (1984), rated PG & Ghostbuster (2016), rated PG-13

June 23rd: Up (2009), rated PG

June 30th: Moonrise Kingdom, rated PG-13

Building Your Family Tree

Beginning your search into your family’s history is an exciting prospect, but with the plethora of resources online and in print, a person starting their family tree can quickly become overwhelmed. You will learn the basics on how to begin your search, including how to organize, how to use search techniques, and where to find invaluable records. All participants will receive charts & forms. We will even look at the 1940 Census. This event will be on Thursday, June 14, 2017 between 2pm – 4pm at the Richlands Library. Learn More

Yu-Gi-Oh! Tournament

Come to the Tazewell  Library on Thursday, June 1 and join us for a Yu-Gi-Oh! Tournament at 2pm. There will be prizes and snacks! This is a free, all ages tournament that doesn’t require sign up. Don’t forget to bring your cards! Learn More

Star Wars Movie-a-thon

Star Wars fans are invited to the Tazewell Main Library for an all-day Star Wars Movie-thon on Friday, June 2 starting at 10am. Popcorn provided. Learn More

This program will cover the practical tips on how to protect yourself through the phone, email, and social media when browsing online. Internet security is important no matter how much time you spend online, so this program will be beneficial to a variety of internet users, including tweens, teens, and adults. Learn More

How to Create a Resume

The average employer only spends thirty seconds looking at each resume they come in contact with. This means that it is more important than ever to make sure you have a resume that highlights your skill sets and captures your potential employer’s attention. This session will be beneficial to people of all ages who are looking to learn more about what it takes to create a successful resume. Learn More

Sit 'n Stitch

We welcome anyone interested in knitting and/or crocheting, whether you are a novice or experienced. This is a fun time for learning and exchanging ideas. Those who have needles, hooks, and yarn are encouraged to bring them; we will have limited materials available for those new to the craft. Learn More

Chess Club

Come join the Tazewell Chess Club every third Saturday of the month at the Tazewell MainLibrary. This club is for all ages and all skill levels. We will have several boards and times, but please feel free to bring your own. Learn More
