As I toured Cairo and floated down the Nile, stopping at the Old Cataract Hotel where Agatha Christie wrote Death on the Nile, I began to feel stirrings of a story. It always feels magical when a story starts to take shape and characters begin to intrude on my waking moments demanding to be heard. This time it felt like such a gift.
The story? I’ve got a couple of ideas, actually, but the one I’m already working on is going to be the next book in the Vampire Knitting Club series. It’s going to be set partly in Egypt (those of you who’ve read Crochet and Cauldrons will see the connection.) An ancient Egyptian witch named Meritamun (Meri to her modern friends) calls on Lucy for help and warns that Lucy’s father is in great danger. What can Lucy do but heed the call?
I’ll let you know when I have a publication date. I do have a working title. Mazes and Mummies.
I hope as the year comes to an end you have a wonderful holiday season and my very best wishes for 2026.
Happy reading and lots of love,
