I read recently about people who accomplished phenomenal things during lockdown, like losing 100 pounds or starting a life-changing business. At first glance, my big lockdown activities were eating badly and watching too much television. But the intangible and smaller accomplishments say just as much about ourselves as achieving major goals. So here's my list. Hit reply and give me yours!
- Got to know my neighbors through driveway get-togethers and Zoom
- Exercised virtually with my sister on a regular schedule
- Indulged my love of letter writing by corresponding with senior citizens isolated in nursing homes
- Started crafting, making pretty notebooks and notepads
- Attended virtual classes on book marketing and virtual library events
- Learned to enjoy a drive with no set destination
Of course, I also wrote and published my books. I wish I had gotten in better shape or learned a language. But I got through it, and that's the important thing. I hope you did, too.
We're not done yet, of course. Here are 100 things to do to get through the rest of the pandemic. I've done 11, 14, 18, 22, 23, 29, 36, 45 and 100. How about you?
