I took lots of books with me for my presentations but came home with none. At the end of the Festival myself and alot of other Authors signed and donated our books to the Lismore Library - I hope this helps if only in a very small way. I also donated books to the Mudgeeraba Special School where Adam and I did presentations after the Festival for those students who are unable to attend. This was such a special moment - especially when I told them I had been drawing since I was two and a young girl in the front row said, 'oh, back in the olden days!' I just love kids honesty.
Another hilarious moment was the now traditional Storyfest sliming! Students and attendees have the opportunity to purchase a ticket and win the opportunity to slime a Teacher, Author, School Captain etc. It raises much needed funds for Room to Read, putting books in children's hands and raising literacy levels in not so lucky countries.
Thank you Storyfest - I loved every moment!
