Hello!
I hope you have enjoyed your summer, had a chance to slow
down and take some time off as we head into autumn (for most).
I
didn’t get away this summer which is a first, but I did take
some time off. I firmly believe that this is critical to being able to recharge on
every level. Speaking of beliefs, I
want to share a few thoughts on mindsets – how important they are
and why you may want to tend to yours as you head back to the ‘full
swing of things’.
Research
shows that our brains
filter reality based on our beliefs and expectations: this creates
space for us to adjust our mindsets intentionally to help us achieve
our goals.
According to Stanford
Professor Carol Dweck, when we adopt a growth
mindset - viewing our abilities and intelligence as works in
progress, capable of improvement through effort - we can achieve
more.
So what kind of mindset would you like to adopt as you head back to the office, school, wherever you will be showing up?
There are some great resources here to help you think through what your best self looks like and to support you to make make that happen.
As
always, happy learning and happy leading!
