A Community Sustainability Center.

French aviator and author Antoine de Saint-Exupéry once said, “If you want to build a ship, don’t gather your people and ask them to provide wood, prepare tools, assign tasks. Call them together and raise in their minds the longing for the endless sea.”

For us, the proverbial endless sea is a sustainable community. That's why, while our building materials reuse center remains one of our most important tools, our new logo (featured at the top of this email) is a reminder of the direction our compass is set.

This blog post by Noelle, our Energy Corps Service member, is a sweet recount of her first experience facilitating a Home ReSource youth building activity.

If you haven't yet seen today's Sustainable Missoula column, it was authored by Jeremy, our Community Engagement Manager, and gives a snapshot of exciting Zero Waste actions underway.

***High End Appliance Alert***

Are you a terrible cook? Well, you're not the only one. Have you ever considered buying a really fancy rangetop with the intention of changing your entire life by improving the quality of food you consume on the daily? Well if you haven't, we're encouraging you to do so now - hey, it might work, right? This Wolf Five Burner Gas Rangetop really is the cream of the crop AND the whole set up includes a top of the line, fully functional, downdraft ventilation system. This set-up is in beautiful condition, and is one of the best luxury kitchen appliance brands out there. We're listing it at the absolutely awesome price of $1600 for the whole package. If you consider that JUST the rangetop retails for over $2500, you know you're getting a nasty deal!

Marble Mantel

This is the one and only surefire way to elevate your social status here in Missoula, and this will be your only opportunity to do it at a discount, ever. This is a really cool marble mantel that could turn things around for you just as easily as the above Wolf rangetop might. Maybe you should go next level and buy both of them. Welcome to the high life, friend. This thing has a ton of pieces, and some of them are cracked, but we're not kidding when we tell you that the cracks make this thing twice as cool. It's likely that this mantel isn't terribly easy to install - $1295

Pristine Salon Chairs

If you've been secretly plotting a way to make the front counter staff members' lives miserable after a disatisfactory interaction you had with one of us, buying these salon chairs is going to be the best opportunity you'll get. They're awesome, comfortable, fun, sleek, functional, and laaaaaaid back. We sit in them all the time and would be crushed if you took them away from us - $125 each

***Last Chance Working Deli Cooler Alert!***

If you store this cooler outside during the winter you don't even need it to 'work' but it does anyway! It came from the Missoula Food Co-op awhile back and works fine. We just dropped the price drastically, and if you don't buy it, the next step is discharge>recycle. Next week it says goodbye to the world. Enjoy some free Christmas lights with your purchase - $25

Beautifully Massive Oak Display Case

This beast of a display cabinet is 12' long and would be perfect for your massive collection of scary, disturbing dolls. It's only fair to your children to keep those monstrous dolls under lock and key at night so the kids can get some sleep - $275

'You've Seen It Before' Item Of The Week

Do you remember that cabinet that has been piled full of junk next to the front counter for the last year? Well, we emptied it out, we're selling it, and we just dropped $100 off the price. This monster is nine feet high and came out of the historic Missoula Mercantile building a long time ago - $225

Assorted Rubbish Caches

We've got a decent rack of rubbish here. Its mostly jars and bottles - $1 each

Big Dusty Doors!

We've recently unearthed these beauties from underneath the heaping piles of junk blocking them and they're a sight to see if you're into 8' doors. They're filthy with dust but they look like misorders that haven't been installed. We just dropped the price to $900.

Did Someone Actually Write 'Pet Casket' On That Sign?

Not cool at all. Viper cage though? Pretty cool. Empty shipping crates - $10 each

Motorless Oldschool Scroll Saw

Not much to say about this thing other than the fact that its heavy and doesn't include a motor. If you're into it, you're into it - $50
