Our Second Chance, Bargain Bag Sale is back!! To ensure that everyone has a fun (and safe) shopping experience, here's how it will work:
Purchase one (or more) limited-edition, reusable shopping bags at $30 per bag.
Once you've purchased your bag(s) you will receive an email confirmation that contains a link to sign up for a designated time to shop. Shopping slots will be limited to ensure appropriate social distancing.
Each time slot will be 50 minutes long - whatever you can fit into the bag during that time is yours! The sale will include clothing only (no shoes, accessories, or handbags) and no clothing may be tried on.
Your purchase supports our programs, providing career and professional development resources, tools, and support to unemployed and underemployed Quad Cities women.
At Dress for Success Quad Cities we have reflected on the challenges posed by the pandemic and stood committed in the adaptability, flexibility, and perseverance that carried us and our clients through the year. As the calendar turns, we appreciate the chance to reset, taking the lessons learned this past year into 2021 as we start anew for growth and trials. We are fortunate to be able to continue to provide career services, a much-needed service as the demand for support has increased due to the unemployment rate especially among women in the service industries caused by COVID-19. It is a challenging situation, but we are focused on adapting and adjusting to meet the needs of the women we serve. We want you to know that your longtime support has helped position our organization to respond in the crisis.
Career Services Success!
Cassandra Nephew is just one of the amazing women we've been able to help by providing essential career services to women throughout the Quad Cities. This year, we are focused on reimagining our career and professional development programming in order to meet the ever-changing needs of the job market and serve women throughout the Quad Cities!
Dress for Success Quad Cities is now offering weekly free career and professional development workshops and one-on-one career coaching to women throughout the Quad Cities.
Our programming is based on a proactive rather than reactive career services model that encourages women to make continued investments in their professional development on an ongoing basis. We believe that a successful career journey, one that leads to personal and financial success, begins with proactively investing in ourselves.
As many of you know, Recycle the Runway is our biggest fundraiser of the year -- the funds raised by this fabulous "Project Runway" style fashion show are critical to the fulfillment of our mission. In 2020, despite the event’s postponement and last-minute switch to a virtual format, over 300 registered attendees demonstrated their commitment to the empowerment of women. Thank you!
This year, we're planning for an even bigger and better virtual event! Recycle the Runway 2021 will feature both new and returning fan-favorite designers showcasing ensembles crafted from bags of recycled clothing. The audience will be able to bid on amazing Silent Auction packages, as well as play a role in voting for the winners. Watch your inbox because registration opens soon!
