Boys & Girls Clubs of America
HTI is developing a 3-hour Foundational Equity Training resource to be shared with Club staff across the nation. HTI will lead the training of trainers which includes the BGCA and Club leaders who will facilitate the sessions in their communities.
Boys & Girls Clubs of America is the premier youth-serving organization in the country and on military bases all over the world. With over 4,000 Club sites and serving over 4 million youth, Boys & Girls Clubs of America is uniquely positioned to influence social change in communities all over the world. Boys & Girls Clubs of America has taken up the charge to address racial equity head-on.
How long have you worked with the organization and what impact have you seen/experienced?
Before joining HTI Catalysts, I worked with a local Boys & Girls Club organization for 15 years. I served in front-line services and in executive leadership before starting my consulting firm. Over the course of my career, I have witnessed a shift towards commitment to quality, a heightened awareness of social movements, and a willingness to do the hard work. As the leader in youth service, Boys & Girls Clubs are primed and ready to set and be the example of positive change for a more equitable society.
In what ways do you represent the HTI way and how has it supported you through this project?
The HTI way is to value the relationship with our partners first, to be accountable for the work that we produce, and to give evidence-based suggestions to our partners so that they can make the best-informed decisions. Our team is learning and teaching simultaneously so that we can create the best product. As we move through the deliverables of this project, the impact of the work becomes more apparent. The youth development professionals, executives, and board members that will receive this training will influence the equity ideals and social norms for an entire generation. This work is the catalyst and launchpad for the racial equity work of all Boys & Girls Club professionals at every level and HTI holds this as an honor.
Best,
Patrice Holt Lead Catalyst, Boys & Girls Clubs of America
