The Master of a Cayman Islands-flagged Motor Yacht reported to the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) that the vessel was approached while underway approximately 53NM southwest of Aden.

Up to fifteen small craft were sighted in the vicinity, with some approaching as close as 0.3NM. It was observed that the personnel aboard these craft were armed. The Master confirmed that all crew members were safe, and the vessel continued to its next port of call.

All vessels in the area are advised to proceed cautiously and report any suspicious activities to the UKMTO.
