Principal’s Comments:

Dear Parents and Friends of the School,

I would like to acknowledge all the support from families who are coaching and managing our touch teams for the Monday touch module Peter Thorne and Rebecca Shaw organise on behalf of Peninsula Schools. I enjoyed watching some games on Monday and seeing all the children enjoying playing team sports. They loved the 30 minutes and it was a lovely atmosphere down at the rugby club.

I look forward to Room 14’s (Year 5) assembly item tomorrow, combined with Stevie Reid being principal for the day. Stevie has organised a mufti day for tomorrow and asks the students to bring a gold coin. All funds raised will go to a Charity called Live Ocean. https://liveocean.com/

I also look forward to seeing our Kapa Haka perform at the annual Onepoto festival tomorrow. Once again this fundraiser for Onepoto School is a lovely celebration of children from across the North Shore enjoying Kapa Haka.

A reminder that the Senior Prizegiving time on Monday 16 December has changed to 1.15pm to allow parents who have children in Year 8 at BIS to have time to come to the start of our prizegiving.

All our staffing for the start of 2025 is confirmed which is great news considering the climate of finding quality teachers currently.

Finally, thank you to all the families that have supported Maria Doddrell. Your generosity of donations and food is much appreciated and speaks volumes for the support this community gives to others.

Guitar and Ukulele Lessons at Belmont Primary School

Musiqhub offers Guitar and Ukulele tuition to students at Belmont Primary School with experienced tutor Dave Gatman.

Students learn a range of traditional and contemporary styled songs and techniques where they play together as a group and take turns to play to the group as individuals. This format creates a relaxed and fun environment for students to learn in and is popular in schools around the country.

The lessons are during school hours on Tuesdays and are available to students in Year 2 and older.

Dave has a few spaces for lessons in Term 4. If you are interested, please contact Dave on 021 2221456, or dave.gatman@musiqhub.co.nz.
