The summer cultural season in the enchanting medieval village of Castello Ginori di Querceto (Montecatini Val di Cecina, Pisa), in the heart of the Val di Cecina between Volterra and the Etruscan coast, runs from July to September and features performances, exhibitions and workshops.
On July 11, starting at 18.30, the art installation REBIRTH | REBIRTH, curated by Kalpa, opens in the Exhibition Hall of the Castello featuring works by Tamara Ferioli and Olga Niescier. The exhibition is re-conceived for Querceto and inspired by the narratives and visuals that are traditionally associated with processions and celebrations. Along this hieratic nave, where silence dominates the space, Ferioli’s flowers proceed spontaneously towards Niescier's large final canvases, as if following a ritual of meditation and contemplation.
Concurrently, at 21.30 in the inner courtyard, VinOperaFestival will present the inaugural classical concert, organised by Accademia Libera Natura e Cultura / Marco Polo Association. With wine to hand in this evocative setting the soprano Chiara Mattioli, the tenor Tiziano Barontini and the baritone Veio Torcigliani will sing the famed arias and duets of the operas by G. Verdi, G. Puccini, P. Mascagni.
The Castello Ginori di Querceto, in addition to providing the exhibition rooms and the courtyard space to host the events, will welcome guests with a glass of wine from the cellar of the Marchesi Ginori Lisci both during the vernissage and the concert.
