Welcome to the March edition of the SME Week Newsletter.

The Promoting Enterprise team will continue to bring SME, enterprise and policy related updates during this time, and are still open to receiving your updates. In particular, the Promoting Enterprise team would like to draw on your experience and knowledge to share best practices on how to support small businesses and business organisations that may be experiencing difficulties due to current restrictive measures. Please do not hesitate to send in contributions, tag us on social media or share your content directly.

Call for innovative SMEs & Startups – COVID-19

The European Commission is calling for startups and SMEs with technologies and innovations that could help in treating, testing, monitoring or other aspects of the Coronavirus outbreak to apply urgently to the next round of funding from the European Innovation Council.

The deadline is Wednesday 18 March at 17h. Find out more right here.

EEPA 2020 Launch

Time for the start of a new edition of the European Enterprise Promotion Awards (EEPA)! The EEPA competition rewards innovative initiatives from public bodies and public-private partnerships which support entrepreneurship, and small and medium sized enterprises.

EEPA 2020 – What’s new?

The European Enterprise Promotion Awards (EEPA) are constantly evolving to keep up with changes and developments, and 2020 is no different. Find out how EEPA 2020 is lining up with the new Commission’s priorities and aims in a letter from the EEPA 2020 jury chair, Kristin Schreiber, available to read on the News Portal.

ELIIT - Deadline extended to 31 March

The ELIIT Project is an opportunity for owners/providers of technology and SMEs in the TCLF sectors to benefit from international opportunities, innovation prospects and tailored partnerships. Sound interesting? Apply before Tuesday 31 March 2020, 17:00 CET.

    EEPA 2019 Catch-up – SMEs in public procurement

    “Fomento de la Contratacion Publica con Pymes” or “Public Procurement for SMEs”, won the “Improving the Business Environment” category last year during the final EEPA ceremony at the SME Assembly 2019 in Helsinki, Finland.

    This successful project wants to share their experience and know-how through some useful documentation on getting SMEs involved in public procurement.

      Young voices, innovative ideas - Meet Radu

      The 2019 winner of the Youth Essay Competition, Radu Dumitrescu from Romania has shared what it was like to win and more about his competition experience.

        IPA4SME: Up to 15 000 EUR co-financing for IP diagnostic and protection for SMEs

        IPA4SME provides financial and expert support for intellectual property (IP) valorisation and protection services to innovative SMEs that have received a Seal of Excellence from the H2020 SME Instrument program. SMEs can apply for the current call of interest until 26 March for IP-related services worth up to EUR 15 000.

          The 2020 call for energy efficiency is now open!

          Around EUR 64 million of EU funding is now available for energy efficiency innovation and market uptake projects.

          The funding is available for proposals submitted under 10 topics addressing 5 main areas: Buildings, Innovative finance, Public authorities, Consumers, Services
