It was the gift of the season. The bow came off and the paper was unwrapped. Smiles were everywhere! That is exactly how we as an organizing team felt as we welcomed many of you to the Moving Forward in Faith conference on November 15th and 16th. From plenary sessions that reminded us “we get to,” to workshops designed around the “how” of mission, the conference gave us two days of community, conversation, creativity, and celebration.

From young adults to seniors presenting and engaging in the conference, I am reminded that when we work together, we have the opportunity to create spaces for mission and outreach to happen across our region and our communities.

In this season, I continue to wish for you opportunities to connect with your neighbours where you might celebrate the story of Jesus. Merry Christmas and may each of you enjoy all the God has for you during this season.

Resonate Global Missions and Diaconal Ministries Canada hosted our first Moving Forward in Faith conference November 15-16 in Burlington, Ontario. The objective of this conference was to bring leaders and members of the CRC in Eastern Canada together to learn, network and worship. Mission accomplished—and more!

Over 200 people attended this event. We saw people of all generations gather and worship together. Friends were excited to see each other, new friendships were made, networking crossed all demographics, and all gathered for opportunities to learn. Some went on a bus tour to visit three ministry sites: Inclusion Coffeehouse, Indwell and Act Five., learning about community partnerships in action! Others opted to participate in the 20+ workshops throughout Saturday. Each day started and ended in praise and worship!

What did we at Resonate and Diaconal Ministries Canada learn? We learned that churches are looking for opportunities to gather, to learn, worship and network. 2025 could be an opportunity for another conference... we'll keep you posted!
