How are you doing? Itās hard to believe but after eighteen long monthsā¦ š£š„ the Uruguay borders are finally opening š„š£
Here are all the details (no more quarantine š)
It made me think that, though the pandemic is not yet over, I wanted to send you a round-up of how itās been living in Uruguay all this time. When the pandemic broke, my mum was visiting us from the UK. My brother called me a week before she was due to fly home and begged āKaren, do what you can to make sure she doesnāt come home for now.ā Three people had already died of covid in my mumās village.
A few monthās back, I read that the German paper, Der Spiegel, had ranked Uruguay #11 in the world for its pandemic response ššŗš¾
Unfortunately, the article didnāt elaborate on the situation in Uruguay. So hereās my round-up of six things that many of us living here have appreciated ā¤ļø
It includesā¦
- No lockdown ever
- A Covid response based on science and technology
- Steady political leadership
- A covid monitoring app created in just seven days that works ā¦and ...
you can read the round-up here
If you have thoughts yourself, do drop them in the article comments.
Will you be coming to Uruguay now? If so, Iād love to hear from you. Just hit reply.
Have a great weekend and I hope this message finds you well
