It made me think that, though the pandemic is not yet over, I wanted to send you a round-up of how it’s been living in Uruguay all this time. When the pandemic broke, my mum was visiting us from the UK. My brother called me a week before she was due to fly home and begged “Karen, do what you can to make sure she doesn’t come home for now.” Three people had already died of covid in my mum’s village.
A few month’s back, I read that the German paper, Der Spiegel, had ranked Uruguay #11 in the world for its pandemic response 🙌🇺🇾
