From Bath to Beyond: University of Bath alumna orbits Earth on NASA mission
University of Bath alumna and astronaut Anne McClain is the Commander of NASA's Crew-10 mission, currently orbiting the Earth.
Crew-10 is the 10th crew rotation mission of SpaceX’s human space transportation system and its 11th flight with astronauts to the International Space Station through NASA’s Commercial Crew Program.
Anne McClain was commissioned as a U.S. Army officer in 2002. She earned a Master of Science degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Bath in 2004. A career in operational flying lead to her being elected in June 2013 as one of eight members of the 21st NASA astronaut class.
A message sent by Anne from the International Space Station to the American Museum in Bath will be featured in the museum's upcoming Beyond Infinity exhibition, opening on 5 July.

Welcome, a new limited-edition eau de parfum inspired by the beautiful woodland florals of Highgrove Gardens and created in support of The King’s Foundation.

The Rake
Congratulations to gentleman’s fashion and lifestyle bible The Rake for reaching its 100th issue. No mean achievement, we think, with the men’s style category really hotting up again after a decade of relative decline. The Rake marks this milestone with a look back and a look ahead (hopefully to at least another 100 issues). Between these poles the magazine features 'The Rake 100' list, which highlights the 100 most influential men and women in the luxury industry, a good many of whom it might be argued are still on the escalator to their greatest achievements. Hollywood grandee and anglophile John Lithgow gets – and really takes – the cover.

Crushed it! Canned Wine Group wins inaugural Bath Dragons competition
Following a rigorous selection process, the Canned Wine Group was named the winner of the inaugural Bath Dragons competition in a tense live final held at The Apex Hotel last week.
The event saw four finalists, all founders of local businesses, battling for the grand prize. Each had just four minutes to pitch their ideas to the Dragons (Debbie Boulton, Managing Director, Richardson Swift; Tom Webb, Corporate and Commercial Partner at Mogers Drewett; Dan Webb, Co-Founder of South West Business Finance; and Anita Jaynes, Founder of The Business Exchange) in front of a packed audience before being questioned on their strategies and finances.
Canned Wine Group impressed with their bold vision for premium, sustainable single-serve wines and their plans to scale operations with new product development and international expansion.
Their win secures a £20,000 expert support package, including legal, financial, and PR services to help accelerate their growth.

Bath Rugby defeat Leicester Tigers in Gallagher Premiership Final to complete remarkable treble triumph
Johann van Graan’s side secured the 23-21 win against Tigers at the Allianz Stadium to reverse the heartache they suffered 12 months ago in last year’s league season finale.
It means the Blue, Black and White have achieved a unique treble this campaign, following wins in both the Premiership Rugby Cup and EPCR Challenge Cup finals 2025.
Bath finished top of the Premiership in the regular season with 14 wins from 18 games before dispatching local rivals Bristol Bears in the play-off.
Saturday’s triumph on a gloriously sunny Saturday afternoon at the home of English Rugby was achieved through tries from Thomas du Toit and Max Ojomoh with Finn Russell adding 13 points off the tee.
