As the year comes to an end, it’s time to reflect on these past 12 months.
From the loss of 2.500 lives attempting to cross the Mediterranean sea to the ongoing conflicts in Gaza, as well as the increasing concerns about the EU’s New Pact on Migration and Asylum, it’s difficult to find the words to close the year. But, there's hope.
Hope persists even in the face of challenges, especially in the face of challenges. People coming together and advocating for positive change contribute to the belief that, despite difficulties, progress is possible.
In the coming months, the upcoming EU elections in June 2024 will be a crucial focus for us. As mentioned above, the EU’s New Pact on Migration and Asylum raises concerns about undermining universal human rights, making it even more imperative for us to stand together and advocate for the preservation of these fundamental rights.
We will also be revisiting the Topics of the Month, going deeper into our research, and developing more content regarding these important matters such as Labour markets, Education, Housing, Social and Cultural Integration, Health & Mental Care.
Simultaneously, our Routes to Relocation campaign remains ongoing, aiming to raise public awareness on the benefits of moving refugees from border areas to welcoming cities and communities where they can more easily integrate. Additionally, we are committed to providing education to local governments and authorities on the opportunities that migration presents and the available resources for supporting welcoming cities.
