This past Thursday, John Fodor spoke to Professor Bill Ryan's Professional Sales Management and Leadership class. John is a UConn graduate that has had a successful career in the financial services industry. For many years, John served as Head of Sales & Distribution for the Capital Group, one of the oldest and largest investment management organizations. John was most recently the CEO of The UConn Foundation.
The UConn Foundation is an independent nonprofit organization that operates exclusively to promote the educational, scientific, cultural, research, and recreational objectives of UConn and UConn Health. The Foundation drives positive change through providing quality programs and services for alumni and supporters, serving as the primary fundraising vehicle for the University. John is now acting as an investor and entrepreneur in a variety of business sectors.
He has been heavily involved in leadership and talent strategy, which is arguably one of the most important strategies for a company. John emphasized to students that without great leadership and talented people, a company cannot thrive in today's competitive world. As he has worked closely with many of UConn's student athletes, John used his passion for sports and teamwork to demonstrate the idea that leadership really is an everyday sport!
