Phase 3 - Easing of restrictions
Member Update

With the latest easing of COVID-19 restrictions in WA as of 6th June, the Board of Management are working through plans to safely resume certain club activities and start the careful process of re-opening our facilities and function spaces. We look forward to welcoming you at the Club in the not too distant future and we sincerely thank you for your ongoing support of Secret Harbour SLSC.

Find out more from our Club President

Admin Office: The office is open by appointment only at this time; however, anyone who would like to collect their Nipper certificates, education award or towel from the Club, or would like to speak to someone from our team in person, please email Jacqui or Trish to arrange a suitable time.

There are some exciting and challenging volunteer opportunities coming up at the club...and many that are just plain fun!

New members, Nipper parents, long service members and everyone in between - there are many ways to get involved.  As a volunteer-run organisation, SHSLSC needs everyone's help to keep the club running smoothly and our beaches safe.

Check out the latest opportunities below.

We might be well into winter, but planning for the next Woodside Nippers season and the sunny days that go along with it is well underway.

Help out at Nippers this season!

Assisting at Woodside Nippers is a great way for our new members and younger age groups to become familiar with the program and it's a fun chance to to get to know each other.

 Beach set up

For this role, you make your way to the beach for 7.30am to assist with raking and setting up arenas on the beach. You will be helped by the rostered age group and supported by our Nipper coordinator. It takes about 30 minutes with 5 - 6 helpers working together. Nippers are welcome!

Contact Rebecca Hughes if you have any questions.

There are a number of different ways to help out at nippers. We'll take a look at all of these roles in upcoming issues of the newsletter.

National Volunteer Week

Thank you to all of our dedicated volunteers at Secret Harbour SLSC who give up their time each season.

National Volunteer Week took place last month and is an annual celebration to acknoweledge the contributions of volunteers across the country.

SLSWA recently asked members why they volunteer with Surf Lifesaving including Secret Harbour's own Carolyn Wilson!

Hear what Carolyn and others had to say in the video below.

Starfish Nippers in its second year at SHSLSC

Thanks to Alcoa we were able to run our Starfish Nipper Program for its second season. Starfish Nippers is a modified nipper program for children with special needs. We believe it is important everyone can access programs where they can learn beach safety and awareness skills, and thanks to the ongoing support of Alcoa, we can carry out this fantastic program.

Thank you to Rick and Sarah Lowe for all of your amazing work running Starfish Nippers.⭐️
