This month, we are excited to announce a fully funded in-person training opportunity and share inspiring case studies from across Europe. From building entrepreneurial ecosystems in rural Portugal to exploring how AI is transforming higher education, we continue to spotlight innovation and collaboration across our network.

💡 HEInnovate Train the Trainer Session

💼 Fully funded (travel and accommodation included)

We’re inviting 30 higher education professionals to join a fully funded, two-day training in Helsinki. Whether you’re just getting started with HEInnovate or looking to take your institutional strategy to the next level, this interactive workshop will help you:

Deepen your understanding of the HEInnovate tool and Action Cards
Translate self-assessment into strategic action
Learn from peers across Europe through real examples and open dialogue
Prepare to lead your own workshops and promote the tool in your institution

Who should apply?
Staff from HEIs across Europe, especially those who haven’t attended a Train-the-Trainer session before. Preference will be given to candidates affiliated with European Universities Alliances.

📍 The session runs from 12:00 on Monday, 22 September to 14:00 on Tuesday, 23 September to accommodate travel on both days.

🧭 Case study: Using AI to Transform Higher Education

How are universities adapting to the fast-evolving landscape of artificial intelligence? A recent comparative case study explores how:

Delft University of Technology (Netherlands)
Czech Technical University in Prague (Czechia)
University of Tartu (Estonia)

are integrating AI across teaching, learning, and research. From launching new AI-focused programmes to building interdisciplinary teams and start-ups, the case outlines both opportunities and challenges – including resistance to change, regulatory hurdles, and the need for agile governance.
