Ireland's Journal of Instrumentation, Control & Automation

The First Read-out!

A New beginning!

Read-out first appeared around thirty years ago. It was founded as a house journal for the company Industrial Instruments Ltd (IIL) in the seventies, edited first by the late Maurice W Bryan and then by Eoin Ó Riain. It was published periodically until IIL closed in 1987. Our picture shows the very first Read-out.

It was published regularly again from 1989 and it was distributed by post to 2000 named professionals throughout Ireland. The last print issue appeared in January 2017.

With the advance of time and the advent of electronic communication , the cost of distribution, and the success of our internet presence we have discontinued the paper edition. In its place we are sending an e-version. We hope you find it usefull. Please feel free to distribute it to any interested colleagues.
