Scouting in Connecticut

Certificates of insurance verify that the BSA and local councils have insurance for an event or activity. In most cases when Scouting and Exploring activities are held at locations other than Scout property, the location requires a certificate of insurance from the BSA. The other parties usually want to be added to the BSA general liability policy as additional insured.

The new Certificates of Insurance are here.  All Certificates of Insurance before March 1st 2023 are invalid.  If your activity or meeting location requires one you will need to fill out a new one.  To access one go to our website ctscouting.org and its at the bottom of the page.  Fill out the brief form and we will turn one around for you. Registration is open for summer camp! We held our kickoffs, which have been recorded and uploaded to our YoutTube Channel.  Flyers, the kickoffs, and more information can be found below.  

Looking ahead to the fall of 2023, our Council has gone all-in on a giant territory-wide camporee called MassJam. Mark it down on your calendars for Columbus Day Weekend October, 7-9 2023. It will be held on Cape Cod's Barnstable fairgrounds. For information, check out the website by clicking the button below. We will be joining Councils from across the territory to help staff, coordinate, and bring participants.

Led by the Council's Training Committee, Districts, and Camps, we have a robust and diverse training schedule planned for 2023.  We have trainings for Scouters of all ages and programs on the docket.  We will have two NYLT courses, Powderhorn, Wilderness First Aid, BALOOs, IOLS, Den Chiefs, University of Scouting, and more! The University of Scouting is much more than another training course. It is the largest single training event of the year within the Connecticut Rivers Council and is the place to improve your skills, increase your knowledge, and share ideas with nearly 200 of your fellow leaders.

Scout Programs including Aviation Merit Badge Workshops presented in partnership with Connecticut Rivers Council as well as Scout Overnights open to scouts of all ages and their families. Other Information

Attention Pack leaders.  Free of charge you can order placemats from us for your next Blue & Gold or another event.  The placemats are our Cub camping advertisement but also include a racing word search and tic tac toe.  The placemat includes dates, pricing, key camp notes, and a QR code to our site.  It will be printed on 11x17 and can be picked up at the office after a minimum four-day turnaround.   Click the button below to order yours today.
