I find it utterly absurd that, for a simple, easily replaceable component, you have to throw away a printer that is practically new but no longer under a warranty.
After a few attempts, I was able to clean the printer heads to allow the printer to run again, or so it seemed…
A few days later, I found myself back to square one. I suspect sadly, the cartridge had a hole causing the ink to dry. In a nutshell, I had to give up.
Consequently, I am now looking for a new printer. The old printer was capable of printing in A3+ which allowed me to print on sheets of 33 cm X 1000 cm, so as to save time and elbow grease in assembling patterns.
After doing a quick count of how many sheets I have cut and pasted over the past few years, I decided it was time to buy a plotter. Whole printed patterns with no more glue and scissors, it felt like a dream.
So I did a quick search and lo and behold...
A new plotter ranges from 1700€ to 2000€.
PANIC!
I have not given up on this little dream of mine, however, I am now on the lookout for a used plotter that would stop me from going bankrupt.
I will keep you posted on how I progress in this new adventure.
I know thinking about printing paper patterns in one's own home seems extremely difficult. However, thanks to one of the new features introduced in the latest update of Valentina, (which I will explain in a new article coming soon to the Blog), it has become very easy, even with large paper patterns.
If, on the other hand, you don't know what Valentina is and want to find out how to design and print your own patterns, here's a Blog article about it. Click here.
