Principal’s Comments:

Dear Families and Friends of the School,

Thank you for all your support for our annual School Fair and Battle of the Schools. Your donations were very generous, the work you did at the stalls and on the field is very much appreciated and then supporting the school by buying back the goods or funding your children so they can play games and eat is also very much appreciated.

Thank you to Georgina Batchelor, Chair of the PTA, and your committee for all the time and hard work. This event takes months of planning and a few sleepless nights. Thanks to Liam Crause and your team for organising the Battle. This also takes months of planning and a lot of work.

Our sales for the day reached $25,000, which is an outstanding achievement. Finally, thanks to all our sponsors who assist financially so we can run the Fair smoothly.

Robyn, our finance officer, has asked if I can put a piece in the newsletter about our bank account details. This is due to the banks now needing more verification for payees. Please note these details for when paying the school. Belmont School (Auckland) Board- 12-3065-0129642-00. Thank you.

The school is continually seeking sponsorship to help pay for items. A recent example is the upgrade to the staff room, which is looking fantastic. If you know of anyone or a company that would like to sponsor the purchase of appliances, furniture or fittings, please let us know. This would be greatly appreciated.

Our senior students have had a great time with their Education Outside the Classroom (EOTC) activities recently. Both Year 5 and 6 camps were a huge success. It was great seeing the children try new activities, pushing themselves and making new friends, and at the same time developing independence. The Year 6 children have also had a great time learning sailing skills through the Waterwise programme. With the good weather being so good, the children have had many opportunities to sail, probably the best summer ever!

Remember next Sunday, 6 April is the Shore to Shore fun run, leaving from TGS and arriving at Milford Beach Reserve. There will be sausages and drinks available for our runners. Look for the Belmont Tent.

North Shore Rugby Club’s annual Rippa World Cup is back and kicking off during the April School Holidays on Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th April!

This is a major fundraiser for the Leavers Tour in June.

It’s a fun, non-contact rippa rugby tournament for children in Years 3 to 8 and a great opportunity to keep your kids occupied during the school holidays. It’s awesome for developing skills and making new friends before the winter season starts. Spaces are limited so register here to secure your spot!

Details:

Dates: Monday 14 and Tuesday 15 April

Time: 8.30am to 4.00pm each day

Venue: North Shore Rugby Club, Cambridge Terrace, Devonport.

Cost: $140 per student (includes playing shirt)

Good to know: Children are assigned to teams in their respective ages and each team represents a country. We endeavour to place children in a team with at least one of the friends listed in the friends requests section on their registration form.

We are a small business created by a group of year 13 Takapuna Grammar students under the Young Enterprise Scheme, we are selling sustainable and eco-friendly beeswax wraps used for preserving/wrapping food that don't cause harm to our planet. We have worked hard to design and manufacture an eco-friendly and fun alternative for single use plastics with gorgeous designs we believe you and your kids will love.
