Dear Families and Friends of Belmont Primary School,

Thank you for your attendance at the picnic last Thursday. It was a lovely evening, with a full crowd of families socialising and enjoying their past and new relationships. The kids also had a great time. Next time we should organise a mass pizza discount!

The Board of Trustees has had some recent personnel changes. Tim Peacocke, our Presiding Member (used to be called Board Chair) has resigned from that position but is still on the Board till midway through Term 2. Tim has given wonderful service to the school and has been an outstanding PM. He has children at the centre of all decisions, has been hugely supportive of all staff and has provided a lot of support to me personally. Thanks, Tim for everything you have done. Matt France was elected Presiding Member at our meeting last Thursday. I know he will also provide excellent support to Peter Thorne and due to his numerous skills and business experience will provide solid governance. Rebecca Bruce has also resigned due to her children no longer being at our school, (which was the same for Tim). Rebecca held the personnel portfolio for the last 4 years and she was outstanding in this role, especially around staff wellbeing and staff appointments. Thanks, Rebecca for your service and support. The Board has seconded Ashleigh Pope and Amy Ratual onto the Board to cover these vacancies and both women bring extensive governance knowledge. The next Board elections are around 10 September 2025.
