Hey 👋🏼 Chris here…
Happy Monday to the thousands of motivated marketing professionals, startup founders, and business owners who are a part of this community.
If you're a freelance marketer, agency owner, or consultant then todays newsletter is for you! Getting new clients can be a tough task but there are a few unique ways I've acquired new clients that anyone can replicate.
Today’s issue takes around 2 minutes to read. As always, if you have any feedback or questions I would love to hear. Feel free to reply to this email.
Three Unique Ways to Get More Clients
Acquiring clients can be a pain. You've got the more obvious tactics like paid ads, SEO, and content... But what about the more "outside the box" ideas?
Here are a few that have worked for me:
✅ Join Online Business Communities
Facebook groups, forums, and online communities can be excellent places to network and earn more clients. The kinds of groups you join should be geared toward entrepreneurs or business owners who are looking to grow their business.
One example is Trends. This is a paid community but the quality of people in this group is unmatched.
The key to success with this approach is not selling your services in the group but providing a quality point of view when a question is asked that you have an answer to.
Don't know where to start? Here's a list to check out.
✅ Join Marketing Freelance Network / Agency
Freelance networks can be hit or miss. Places like Upwork and Fiverr are good for small jobs but it's difficult to get a quality client on these platforms. Competition is fierce.
Instead, I've found great success with Agency networks like Jumpsuit and Right Side Up. These agency networks are more selective with the marketers they choose to work with. This helps them to create trust with clients and provide exceptional service. Any time they have a client project with a need I specialize in I can be tapped to join the project. I set my rate and availability.
I've found that joining agency networks is also helpful in providing access to other great marketers to learn from.
✅ Short form Video
Okay, this one may be a little more obvious but it has to be included in the list. Short form video is one of the biggest opportunities we have for broad distribution. Here's the framework I suggest:
- Document 20 of the most relevant keywords in your area of experience.
- Go to TikTok and search for these keywords.
- Watch the first 5 videos that come up for each search term.
- Make a similar video for each of them but add your own unique spin or point of view.
I promise this method will help you grow your TikTok account and get in front of more potential customers.
