Hello Friends-

"Welcome back to "The Cre8tive Life"- your weekly newsletter full of lifestyle tips, smiles, and musings.

I have chiefly been delving into a bit of a "Calgon Take Me Away" moment this week...I dabbled in some of my ritualistic routines of making art, attending virtual events, reading (when my internet was down for a day), talking to a few friends here and there, and watching a medley of things on YouTube, Netflix, etc. I have also been doing a deeeeeeeeep dive into memory lane and the former things of life. On Wednesday, I felt like I was having a bit of a mini breakdown of sorts, and decided that I would force myself to "get out and do something" on Thursday- even though it was supposed to rain. My spirit felt extremely drained, and like it really needed to see something beyond my walls of quarantine. (My devotional reading for that day even spoke to the fact that I needed to get out...so, I took that as an extra sign.) Needless to say, I ventured out and grabbed the first bus I could that morning- not really even knowing where I was going to go. I ended up going to a super quiet (and pretty much peopleless) Michaels and got some extra crafting supplies I've been wanting. After that, I went to the grocery store and got a few things to carry me through some more quarantine time. I can honestly say that I really needed that little mini escape- it really lifted my spirits, and gave me a little "light." It has been the highlight of my week thus far.

I hope you are taking the time when and where you can to find those little moments of joy in your life as well. We've definitely got to grab hold to them in times like these.

Random stories, pictures, video highlights, and other life musings can be found on my personal instagram page (@e101) and official brand page (@thecre8tiveartisan) throughout the week (when/if I end up posting anything).

*And, if you have missed any previous newsletters, feel free to check out the archive section on my website: HERE.

Continued prayers that you and your loved ones stay safe and healthy

(mentally & physically) out there 💗.

My weekly (random) compilation of some of my favorite "cre8tive" things that I want to share:

  • FAVORITE WORD: Coruscate (v): to to give off or reflect light in bright beams or flashes; to sparkle

  • ADVICE: “Never make permanent decisions on temporary feelings." - Anonymous

  • MOOD MUSIC: I've been in my Stevie Wonder feels this week. I'm especially digging "Power Flower" from his album, "Journey Through the Secret Life of Plants."

  • QUARANTINE RECOMMENDATION: My friend, and filmmaker, Jia Wertz, produced a documentary short called, "Conviction," earlier this year. It's about a sixteen year old boy who fights the justice system to prove his innocence after being convicted of the rape and murder of a fellow classmate. It has been getting rave reviews, and is up for several award nominations. It was released on Amazon Prime last week; and, you can check it out HERE

  • LIFESTYLE TIP: Taking care of oneself in these times (and beyond) is extremely important. I'm sharing a good read I found on "15 Foods That Boost Your Immune System." Do you have any favorites not on the list?

  • FEEL GOOD SHARE: I often think and feel that the act of sending snail mail and letters is a lost art. So, when I stumbled upon the trend of some nursing homes seeking pen pals for their patients, my heart was truly touched. I'm sharing this post from Victorian Senior Care in North Carolina; but, there are many senior centers in need of this. So, feel free to use this as a spark of research for your future pen pal!

One of my favorite quotes.

This week's challenge is to go against the grain a bit, and follow your heart in something that you feel called to do, but have talked yourself out of.

I have some new and exciting community virtualizations that I will be hosting in the upcoming weeks! Be on the lookout for more info!

*As a reminder, "Virtualizations!" are my highly curated, virtual event offerings. If you (or, a friend) have an upcoming birthday (or other virtual celebration need), I would love to be considered as your virtual event planner consultant! Together we can craft a unique and engaging virtual experience that all your attendees will be touched by! Please feel free to reach out to me HERE for more details! I look forward to working with you!

***Totally disregard this part of the newsletter if you have already done this.

Lastly, if you happen to have any future topic ideas, or come across any events I should know about, PLEASE feel free to send those along my way. I always LOVE discovering and learning about new things!
