We recently completed an upgrade of our Spear, Login, and HPC compute clusters. Highlights include over 500 software packages upgraded and a brand new version of Slurm (v18.08).
In case you missed it in our March newsletter, if you are transferring data to or from RCC storage systems, you can now experience faster speeds. We have upgraded our storage export nodes to 40Gb/s (an increase of 40x). We've also upgraded our login nodes to 10Gb/s (an increase of 10x).
GPUs are becoming more relevant in research computing every day. Powerful libraries such as Tensorflow and CUDA are available. RCC is dedicated to providing reliable GPU service on the HPC. We've recently conducted and published benchmarks for several popular libraries on our website.
More researchers are taking advantage of Globus. Last month, the FSU research community collectively transferred approximately 215TB of data and almost a million files. Globus provides powerful features for transferring and publishing data.
