Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, the date on which enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, finally received the news they were free. The 2024 Kennett Square Juneteenth Planning Committee proudly presents a Schedule of Events all month long to commemorate Juneteenth in our region!

Kennett Flash presents Southern Soul-Infused Rockers MALLOW HILL for their first concert at the Kennett Flash on Sunday. BYOB your favorite bottle of wine, and join us for a night of great live music!

American Red Cross Blood Drive

Masonic Lodge, 121 Center St

Kennett Lodge No. 475 has a blood drive scheduled for Saturday, June 22 at their Lodge. Please join them in donating and making a difference to those in need.

Juneteenth History Program

June 22, 11 am
Kennett Library

Re-enactors of the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment will display Civil War artifacts & ephemera.

12 pm: Dr. Alexander Augusta, the first African American Civil War surgeon.
12:30 pm: Black Soldiers as Agents of Emancipation and Freedom
1 pm: Formation and History of the 1st US Colored Troops Regiment

Kennett on Top

The Rotary Club of Kennett Square will be holding its second annual “Kennett on Top” event on top of the Borough parking garage on East Linden Street.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Kennett Rotary Foundation which supports nonprofit agencies in our community.
