Open-source reports indicate that the Israeli Air Force has conducted a series of air raids against the Houthi-controlled Red Sea ports of Hodeidah and Ras Isa. The airstrikes targeted power plants and port facilities. Specific times and positions of the attacks were not disclosed.
According to official releases from the Israeli military, the attacks on the port cities were done in retaliation for recent Houthi missiles strikes aimed at Israel, including an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) which struck the port city of Eliat, Israel on 25 September.
The incident in Eliat reportedly resulted in damage to an industrial waste storage building, though no casualties were reported. The commercial seaport in Eliat has been largely shut down due to the increased level of risk.
All vessels in the area are advised to proceed with caution and to report any suspicious activities to the UKMTO.
