What was almost a dragon's hoard...

This week it's a double-feature! While looking through swatches of different vinyl "leathers" (resembling the black Dragon Master vinyl that TT released years ago), I saw the gold and silver versions and just KNEW that I had to make it part of my colorway collection!

As mentioned on Instagram, the gold version reminded me of Athena's golden aegis in Greek mythology, while the silver version resembled the armor of the Valkyries in Norse mythology.

Here you see my old Youtube avatar from probably 10 years ago - my Halloween costume / cosplay of Athena (or more accurately, Minerva as it's the Roman version of the same figure). That scalemail aegis took me close to a month to make by hand, one scale and one jump ring at a time! As mentioned last week, each colorway has some kind of significance or history - a special story associated with it.

The silver version I wanted to dedicate to a different female deity or supernatural woman, and since shiny silver is often associated with steel armor, I thought it was fitting to dedicate the silver version to Valkyrie. (Another character I would absolutely cosplay, if I had the time and funds to do so - but I am currently in "season of Mom" in my life, and so any big projects will have to wait until my kiddo is school-age (and then he can start cosplaying with me, huehuehuehue 😆)

So what is the significance of "Dragon's Hoard"? It was recommended by some colleagues that I rename the two cinchers "Dragon's Hoard in Gold / Silver" as a play on "Dragon Master" (the black version of this vinyl) buttttttttt I legitimately forgot to change the name before I submitted my final colorway choices to TT. Happy accidents? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Why two cinchers as opposed to any other style? Because they are the most versatile - it can be seen as a proper corset or as a wide belt accessory.
