Hello My Dears,
Welcome to the kickoff of my email newsletter ANCHORED. The focus of this newsletter is to share life with you. To build habits of hope together. To point to the source of hope – our loving, gracious God.
I recently fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming an author with my book, LIVE IT OUT – Hope, A Devotional Journal. I invite you to check out this unique devotional journal or share it with someone you know who may struggle to find hope in their circumstances. There are times when we are simply overwhelmed by the daily challenges of parenting, marriage, work, or responsibilities. It is common to struggle, and we all need reminders of where to look for hope. This book is that reminder.
As we commit to living out hope in our lives, we are comforted, lifted up, and filled so that we can in turn, give it out.
COMMIT TO HOPE
The first challenge I want to put out to my tribe is to memorize the definition of biblical hope. It is confident expectation in God and His Word. If you study the Bible, you will notice that over and over hope is found “in the LORD” (Psalm 31), “in God” (Psalm 42), and “in Your Word” (Psalm 119).
As the first chapter of my book describes, the hope we have is not the same as the way the world hopes – empty wishes. Our hope is sure. It is an anchor for our souls. The reason this is true is because we are anchored, secured eternally, by our faith in a loving God who reconciled us and paid for our sin. That means when we look to Him, turn to him, talk to Him, and walk with Him, we have hope that is both sure and steadfast.
Now, don’t get me wrong. I know this world is full of storms and our circumstances can feel like one wave after the other hitting us. As we navigate the squalls of life, let’s remember that we are anchored by the One who calms the waves.
He sees you. He knows. He is with you.
Take a moment to memorize the definition of hope, and then, live it out!
