It is clear that companies struggle to understand the importance of the role. The know they need someone but they can't tell you why that role is essential to the business, even when they know it is.
Then assistants are surprised when they are loaded with tons of work but receive low pay, no raise, and limited influence. The frustration of working their asses off and then not being appropriately compensated for the value they bring.
But if you look at the resumes, annual review prep, and OKRs created by assistants you can immediately tell that they have no clue how to connect what they do to the VALUE they bring.
