I read seven books this week. A book a day.
You’re probably thinking, how the hell does he read so many books?
I’ve shared this guide before, but in a nutshell, these are the two most important habits:
Habit 1 - I read every night, for 1 hour, before bed. Somedays I fall asleep, often I don’t. I shape the environment by ensuring I leave my phone downstairs!
Habit 2 - I don’t read every word, on every page and I ditch books that I’m not learning from. For example, I didn’t enjoy Company of One by Paul Jarvis. I read a couple of chapters then cast it to one side.
There's a third habit that helped this week too. Recently I've developed a habit of visiting the public library with my son. It's one of the highlights of the week. We always leave with a stack of books. These are FREE. Which lowers the barrier to reading and saves my pocket.
Habit 3 - Use your public library.
Now long-time followers will know, that I advocate acting upon what you learn.
One small way I do that is by writing book summaries.
This learning ritual means I forget less and act more.
Of the seven books I read this week, I learned the most from Key Person of Influence by Daniel Priestly.
