Scholars Abroad
For Incoming Freshmen
Scholars Abroad offers a two-week trip to Greece for incoming freshmen, providing an opportunity to earn a Bible class credit while studying the Mediterranean World as experienced by the Apostle Paul. The journey includes visits to Athens, Corinth, Delphi, Meteora, Thermopylae, Sounion, and more! This year, in honor of the upcoming Olympic Games, we expanded our itinerary to include sites typically reserved for the full semester at HUG program. We explored all four Panhellenic Games locations: Olympia, Corinth, Delphi, and Nemea! Assistant Dean of the Honors College and tour leader Jim Miller had this to say about the group's time in Greece:
From following Paul’s missionary journeys and visiting the Panhellenic games sites, to studying the classical ideas of truth, beauty, goodness, justice, liberty and equality, and celebrating a student’s baptism, our group shares a special bond that only traveling together can create. We also ate a lot of really good gyros and gelato together, and that bond is also strong.
The applications for next summer's tour are now open, but space is limited! If you know someone who will be between their senior year of high school and freshman year of college next summer and is interested in this enriching experience, encourage them to learn more by visiting our website through the button below.
