Hello Friends-

"Welcome back to "The Cre8tive Life"- your weekly newsletter full of lifestyle tips, smiles, and musings.

This week I escaped my walls of quarantine, and finally ventured out on a trip. Where did I go? I went on a "big adventure" to Trader Joe's!!! And, yes, I took all of the luggage that is in the picture with me (plus some extra bags you can't see). I even called ahead to find the best day/time to go, when they restocked, and made a map of my grocery list and needs (don't judge me). That was the first time that I have been in the city, and on the subway since March...and, it was also my very first time ever going to that particular Trader Joe's. So, it truly was a "BIG ADVENTURE" for me. I don't think that I have ever been so excited to go to a grocery store in my life. I had missed all of my favorite items, and had a lot of things on my radar to try from some of the Trader Joe's blogs I follow (again, don't judge me-lol). Gratefully, there weren't too many people in the store, or on the multiple modes of public transportation that I had to take to get there. I was also able to get everything on my list (with the exception of the dried pineapples I've been wanting for the past couple of months). After dropping off my groceries at home, I decided to continue on with my "adventure," and go for a little nature walk. Being around the water and sun did my heart, soul and spirit some good. Needless to say, this has been the highlight of my week.

How are you? What has been your highlight this week?

MY WEEKLY PICKS:

My weekly (random) compilation of some of my favorite "cre8tive" things that I want to share:

  • FAVORITE WORD: Lagom (adv. or adj.): a Swedish word meaning "just the right amount".

  • ADVICE: “There is only one way to avoid criticism: do nothing, say nothing, and be nothing." - Aristotle

  • MOOD MUSIC: I actually haven't been listening to much music lately...but, I did randomly stumble upon this great Lila Iké NPR Tiny Desk (Home) Concert. I wasn't familiar with her before listening; but, I really enjoyed her!

  • QUARANTINE RECOMMENDATION: This week I binge-watched one of my favorite shows that I was super behind on, "This Is Us." If you are a lover of the interwoven tales of family, and have never seen this show, I highly recommend it (just be sure to keep a box of tissues near by)! Can't wait until the new season starts back!

  • LIFESTYLE TIP: I shared a picture of this in my highlights reel above...but, I didn't talk about my excitement of making chocolate chip cookies in my air fryer. You bake them at 350° for 7-8 minutes on parchment paper, and then let them cool and flatten out for around 12 minutes (*be sure to monitor your air fryer for time variances- as yours may work a bit differently than mine). This little experiment definitely brought a little bit of happiness to my day- and, I hope it does yours too! (*Extra bonus points of joy can be found by adding some icing for the Double Doozie effect!)

  • FEEL GOOD SHARE: This story of an anonymous man who dresses up as Batman, and provides food to the homeless really warmed my heart. Humanity at its finest!

MUSINGS ON LIFE:

A little reminder of encouragement.

Actively working towards doing/being your best is what matters most.

CRE8TIVE CHALLENGE OF THE WEEK:

This week's challenge is to cut yourself a little slack, and celebrate your "small" wins. Write them down, and be proud of the progress you have made!

ON THE HORIZON:

I will be announcing some new and exciting community virtualizations that I will be hosting next week! Be on the lookout for more info!

*As a reminder, "Virtualizations!" are my highly curated, virtual event offerings. If you (or, a friend) have an upcoming birthday (or other virtual celebration need), I would love to be considered as your virtual event planner consultant! Together we can craft a unique and engaging virtual experience that all your attendees will be touched by! Please feel free to reach out to me HERE for more details! I look forward to working with you!
