Haryana Pollution Control Board (HSPCB) recently conducted a state-level workshop at Haryana Institute of Public Administration (HIPA) to spread awareness on a direction released by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM). The workshop had 200+ participants. This included dignitaries from HSPCB, CAQM, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) and representatives from Haryana's industrial association, Residential Welfare Associations (RWAs), Indian Medical Association (IMA), builders association, city gas distribution agencies and diesel generator set vendors.

In June 2023, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) issued an advisory restricting the use of DG sets in the National Capital Region starting from 1st October 2023. The direction has major financial, technical and social implications for industrial, residential and healthcare establishments.

Through this workshop, HSPCB created a space for open dialogue among the representatives from different associations, state government and the central bodies like CPCB and CAQM to discuss pain points across different sectors and provide implementable solutions to ensure compliance on the CAQM direction no. 73 across 14 out Haryana's total 22 districts falling in the NCR region.

Kisan Sampark Abhiyaan (KSA) is an outreach initiative intended to reach out to the last farmer in the village and explain in detail about the various features and benefits of the government’s flagship Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP). The program commenced in March, 2023 with the aim to disseminate the knowledge to the last farmer in the village in 4000+ panchayats across 20 districts in the UT. A decentralised approach was sought to enable the participation of grassroot institutions like panchayat, district agriculture department, etc.

GDi helped in design of the initiative, taking into consideration the geography and beneficiaries of the program. A state specific communication strategy was developed to engage the broader community. The positive response to the initiative led to the recommendation from the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu Kashmir to extend the program’s reach to the remote regions of the Union Territory. The phase 1 of the program is set to conclude by the end of September which will cover 4 lakh plus farmers across the UT.
