Chipola Encourages Students to Complete FASFA

Current and prospective Chipola College students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid Application (FAFSA) as soon as possible.

Thursday, July 20, is the deadline to complete the 2023-2024 FAFSA for students planning to use Federal Financial Aid to pay for Fall classes.

Students must complete the FAFSA to see if they qualify for Pell, Work Study and other Federal Financial Aid. The FAFSA takes several days to process; therefore, students are encouraged to submit their online application at www.fafsa.gov as soon as possible. Once Financial Aid receives your FAFSA application, you will be mailed a letter requesting additional documents/forms in order to complete the evaluation process. If you have questions please call the Financial Aid Department at 850-718-2366.

Dual Enrollment Summer Academy Begins

Chipola’s Dual Enrollment Summer Academy began Monday, June 12. Approximately forty top scholars from local high schools are enrolled and getting a head start on their college education at zero cost.

Career Camp Tours Chipola’s New Cyber Range

On Wednesday, June 14, students from the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce Career Camp toured Chipola’s new Cyber Range. The Career Camp targets Juniors & Seniors across Jackson County in order to demonstrate the future workforce career paths in our area.

Jackson is Chipola Employee of The Month

Bobby Jackson is Chipola College’s Career Employee for June. Bobby Jackson serves as a Lead Groundskeeper, Facilities/Campus Operations and has worked at the college since 2021. Pictured from left, are: Chipola President, Dr. Sarah Clemmons and Bobby Jackson.

General Hart Honored at Chipola’s 75th Graduation

General James Hart, Jr. was honored at Chipola’s 75th Graduation Ceremony on June 4th as one of the oldest continuously involved alumni from Chipola’s early years. General Hart, as a teenager, cleared land for the current campus to be built on, he later attend Chipola and credits Chipola’s graduation with providing the foundation and the mentorship to direct his life.
