I have always enjoyed the analogy of us all rowing the boat in the same direction – that direction is superior service to the constituencies we serve as UB heads toward the highest university ranking possible. Please take every opportunity offered to gather with co-workers in fun and meaningful PSS events. When you meet and get to know the person attached to that department or email address – a better working relationship can be formed. I look forward to seeing you at multiple PSS sponsored programs this academic year.
Please take some time to view several important articles in this September PSS newsletter. University covid rules – what to do work wise, should you test positive- are listed, as well as the latest on the extension of the tele-commute program. These are areas that your feedback, your voice as a PSS member were used to shape our current university policies.
The PSS will look to solicit administrative support for a more holistic review of operations and work. Currently annual reviews are top down – and the PSS will look to outline the value in some sort of a review up of the managers and admin. We hope to make the case that a more holistic, circular review of work in our areas will lead to more healthy dialogue and increased opportunity to move UB higher in rankings and other metrics.
We welcome all members of the PSS to join us on these efforts during the 22-23 PSS year.
Cheers to a most productive academic year!
Go Bulls Go!
