The WHO has announced that winter in Ukraine "will be a matter of survival" (Belgian Newspaper La Libre, 21 November 2022). Because of the Russian strikes in the early days of war and the current prolonged power cutoffs, many hospitals and health facilities are no longer operational. The health of the population is at stake and the risks of COVID-19, pneumonia, influenza and diphtheria, to name but a few, are increasing.
