The Peninsula Poppy Project presents A Gala Evening to commemorate the Centenary of the Armistice including the premiere of Stanley's War- Suffolk's World War One Remembered- a new film by Tim Curtis (Life on the Deben), documenting World War One through the lives of two very different Suffolk families.
The evening will commence in the Riverside restaurant at 6pm with a buffet inspired by food of the period and a glass of wine. You will then retire to the cinema for presentations from the Suffolk Punch Trust and the Royal British Legion before the World Premiere of Tim's film followed by a Q&A with both Tim and the film's narrator, John McCarthy.
After a brief interval, the second part of the evening will feature a performance from the Riverside Musical Theatre Company, Soldiers of All Nations flag parade, a selection of World War I poems and readings before ending with a rousing performance of "There will always be an England". The evening will end around approximately 10pm.
Tickets are £30 which includes food and wine, a percentage of the ticket proceeds will go to the Suffolk Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal and Suffolk Punch Trust.
There will be a screening of the film only at 5pm on Sunday 11th November at The Riverside with all tickets at £6.00.
