The Athenian Acropolis: Myth, Cult, Monument
With special focus on the sixth and fifth centuries BC, students will examine the buildings and monuments of the Athenian Acropolis and its slopes, their programs of sculptural decoration, the cults and religious festivals celebrated within the sacred precinct, the myths associated with them, and the role that they played in the life of the city. This course takes place on Wednesdays at 19:00-20:00 (GMT+1) from 4th May for 5 weeks.
Meta-narrative and Tradition: Reading the Odyssey in English translation starts tomorrow, Monday 25th April at 7pm (GMT+1) for 10 weeks.
The Julio-Claudians: An Imperial Soap Opera starts on Tuesday 26th April at 7pm (GMT+1) for 5 weeks.
