After the heat wave the past few days, let's look forward to a cooler market day on Friday, rain or shine!
What's in season from your farmers at KSQ right now? You'll find peas (shelling + snap), purple sprouting broccoli, various lettuces (head + loose leaf), a large variety of leafy greens, fennel, beautiful broccolini, root vegetables (beets, salad turnips, radishes), kohlrabi, and more. Asparagus is winding down, but Troy will have a bit more this week. Strawberries continue, but the season is short...enjoy now!
All of this local goodness is grown & freshly harvested by the farms you meet at market, so know that you are supporting these small producers directly when you shop KSQ! Keep reading for details about each farm & producer you'll find at market this week.
Notes for 6/11:
- Bread & pastries are back – scroll down to learn about our NEW weekly addition to market!
- Even on the rainy days, everything has been harvested and prepared specifically for market. Your producers are extremely grateful for your dedication to gear up and shop...whatever the weather!
- Our two PA-based produce farms – Swallow Hill & Rex Farms Orchard – welcome WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) checks.
- Head over to our website to check your favorite producers' schedules. It shows who is weekly, bi-weekly, etc.
