At The Vandenberg Coalition, we believe American foreign policy should be of, by, and for the American people. Many well-known isolationist-leaning media personalities have sought to describe their personal worldview as that of Trump’s supporters, but is it really?
To answer that question, we decided rather than trusting elite pundits, we should trust the voters themselves. Our first in a series of monthly polls conducted with TargetPoint through the end of 2025 found that 95 percent of the MAGA base surveyed believe a strong American presence makes the world safer, and 71 percent of Trump voters overall advocate for continued U.S. leadership on the global stage, especially considering the recent success of Operation Midnight Hammer.
Over the course of this polling project, we will assess how different policy actions affect perceptions of American power and American support to see where the actions of the administration align with its voter base, and where they fall short.
