As I reflect over this past month of February, I am filled with love and gratitude. We launched our first public offering, Listening 4 Justice, and I couldn’t be more excited. Having a public offering has been on my vision board for HTI for many years. To see it all come together has been touching, to say the least. Last year we introduced and piloted Listening 4 Justice (L4J) and that community of folk who came together each week to listen, learn and unlearn have been nothing short of amazing! From the beautifully talented facilitators to the staff and thought-partners, who worked tirelessly in the background, in addition to the participants who formed a unique community along the way; there has been so much love. We recognize that this a movement where persons can get what they need to move the needle towards cultural justice one person, one household, and one community at a time. We invite YOU to join us to witness the love and growth for yourself.

L4J is Our Love Language

Listening 4 Justice is HTI's Love Language.

L4J brings diverse groups of people together for racial healing and action for racial justice. It's a warm, comfortable space where we listen, learn, and eventually lead along our individual and collective justice journey. Here are 4 ways we show love.

Words of AFFIRMATION

We are learning that community is our most valuable asset. L4J has built a real community of listeners, doers, and change-makers who support, accept, and comfort each other. We are forever grateful that they have embraced this journey and helped us to grow.

QUALITY TIME

The L4J experience is a gathering like no other. Using small Harambee groups allows participants time to get to know each other through shared stories, active listening, and understanding. We learn from each other and connect in new and exciting ways.

ACTS OF SERVICE

And then we act. After weeks of listening, gatherers then have an opportunity to put their learning into action and hone-in on an area of justice they’d like to impact within their community through service.

TANGIBLE GIFTS

During our pilot, we were excited to gift Catalysts with L4J special edition merchandise to include the Listening 4 Justice hoodie and t-shirt. We love the Catalysts and we appreciate the intense, caring work that they do.

Expanding Our Network. We are continually seeking diverse consultants with expertise in youth development, education transformation, and advancing equity. If you're interested in joining our network, visit our website to learn more. We'll open recruitment in March.
Solidifying Our Operations. Our growth has been exciting and now we're adding on. For the better part of this year, we have been identifying candidates and interviewing for our new Director of Operations position. We're getting closer and look forward to introducing them to you soon.
