Erosion Stabilization Work to Begin

In collaboration with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), almost 400 property owners have applied for the Emergency Watershed Protection (EWP) program. The EWP program pays for 75% of the cost to stabilize erosion and natural resources. The contract to start the erosion projects arrived on October 19 so erosion stabilization efforts can officially begin.

A big thank you goes to the 40 volunteers that are signed up to help with debris removal at the Sanford Dam over the next four weeks! The volunteers will categorize, sort and label recovered items and distribute them to their proper owners.

Winter Repair Needs Identified

Last week the Operation Readiness Teams visited all four dams to assess operations, identify items for repair and compliance, and prepare for winter and spring operations. Once we have a complete list of repairs we will share them.
