The festive spirit at the iconic London visitor attractions of Harrods, Selfridges plus the likes of Fortnum & Mason has been shaping up for some weeks now - similar to Bartellas in Meopham, where the demand for tables and our Christmas menus has been astonishing.
Christmas Day has been fully booked for weeks now. Christmas Eve and Boxing Day are always popular, when our regular à la carte menu is available, so wise to book well ahead.
Our party menu including crackers is available for lunch from £25 and dinner from £30 and is up on the website. Weekends in December have very limited availability now for tables of more than 10. With our decorations due to go up week commencing 13th November, this year looks likely to be an extra special one for us all.
New Year's Eve has very limited availability - £140 per person, dress to impress, Retro Russ on the decks with the best of the 60’s, 70’s & 80’s plus music quizzes and plenty of prizes. Price includes a bottle of Champagne per couple on arrival, a 6 course table d'hôte choice menu, more Champagne at midnight with an abundance of confetti cannons to help you party through to the small hours.
We’re open every day as usual throughout the holiday period and our trading hours are on the website.
Some new additions to our à la carte menu include a highly popular rack of pistachio crusted lamb, a fillet steak with Dauphinoise potato, a chicken korma and a millefeuille dessert filled with coffee cream & almonds.
Usual offer to paid-up Club Bartellas members of a complimentary bottle of wine to the value of now £50, valid until 5 November - one bottle per member for the duration of the offer please.
We’d thought the sunshine had moved on so had packed all the al fresco gear away - seems like we may now have another couple of weeks to enjoy some decent daylight hours before the long dark evenings arrive. Keen to create a fun Folie Douce experience under the pergolas and al fresco bar, wrap up warm around the fire pits, for private hire if required, with Prosecco, ski shots and hearty food as part of the party offer.
We’re presenting the singer showman Chris Till at lunchtime on Friday 2nd February for one of his much lauded charity events. £35 per person to include a 3 course table d'hôte meal plus tea & coffee. Demand for tickets will be strong since Chris has a huge local and loyal following. Book now.
Our latest cocktail list might prompt you to try a new concoction or two but rest assured your favourites will still be available upon request, every day of the year. So thank you as always for your tremendous, encouraging support and for help making Bartellas the real neighbourhood restaurant that it is.
Reassuringly predictable was an accolade Time Out magazine bestowed upon PizzaExpress for its restaurant openings and consistent standards during their glory years (see article here).
Jeremy King, the doyen of the Hospitality Industry and due to rise from the phoenix of his shattered Corbin & King creation, recently shared the notion that buying a restaurant was the easy bit, getting it open was more difficult but actually successfully running it, day in day out, was the hardest task of all.
He is still very much in love with that devotion to duty but never afraid to challenge the conventional standards, in his efforts to take the business to another level and broaden the appeal. I’d like to think that sentiment is always available and on our menu at Bartellas.
