BIldraum Bodensee (Seestraße 5) hosts MusicaFemina C♀mposers 

After the stuninng opening days with performances from Slovenia, Iran, Hungary and Germany the exhibition attracts arts and music lovers.

Until September 4th you have a chance to visit the artistic installation by scenographer and artist Clarisse Maylunas with digital content, musicologically curated and produced by Irene Suchy. Enjoy the wide range of women contemporaries making music of all genres and styles in our various rooms.

Inside the sculptured muses by Maylunas you will experience wonderful female music, world hits and special examples from Vorarlberg.

Musica Femina International @ City of Women, Ljubljana. 

The Festival for Contemporary Arts – City of Women is celebrating its 25th anniversary. During two weeks (October 1st to 13th) guests from all over the world join the intense program of theatre and dance performances, exhibitions, screenings, concerts, symposiums and workshops. The program of Musica Femina International features during october 4th - 7th October in Old Power Station with an exhibition on Austrian, Austrian-based and Slovene composers, concerts by Contagious (D) and Andrea Szigetvári (HU), a music focus on Slovene composer and sound artist Nina Dragičević, an International Conference on Feminism in Sonic Arts and a dj-party on the theme of this year’s edition #HerStory. Festivals @ Hungary

At three Festivals (Kaláka Fesztivál, the Wooden Church Festival and at the Valley of Arts festivals) in Hungary between June 28th and July 19th six commissioned works were premiered with great success and recorded for publishing it in the beginning of 2020.
Three of the works were performed by Hungarian artists and ensembles: Mónika Lakatos and the Gipsy Voices, Veronika Harcsa and Anastasia Razvaljeva, Anna Szabó T. in cooperation with Evelin Tóth and Luca Kézdy. Three of them by the winners of our international Call: Maddie C, Petra Widmar and Hana Fatur.

Call for Papers for the MusicaFemina International Symposium Budapest
“Gender and Creativity in Music Worlds”

As part of its Hungarian event series, MusicaFemina International is organizing a
symposium and workshop in Budapest on January 8th to 9th, 2020.
We invite scholars and experts in the field—musicians, educators, music critics, and
music industry professionals— to submit proposals relating to the wide range of
topics of “gender and music”. Abstracts of approximately 300 words (PDF format)
presenting the subject, the conceptual framework and the analytical approach along
with a brief CV (one page at most) should be sent to
budapest@musicafeminainternational.eu by September 20th, 2019.

Heroines of Sound @ Berlin

Heroines of Sound took place in Berlin from July 12th to 14th, 2019.

In the great atmosphere of Radialsystem among a young female and male audience participants from the European project, from Hungary, Vienna and Slovenia, enjoyed the special creative atmosphere and the deep listnening for three long evenings. Three panels touched questions, to be central for our topic.

European radio and print journalists accompanied the festival extensively.

International Conference @ Munich

musica femina münchen (Munich) and the Archiv Frau und Musik (Frankfurt) will be hosting an International Conference on  “Diversity in Music – Women Composers and Conductors Today”

March 20th – 22nd, 2020 at the Orff-Zentrum in Munich, Germany

The key topic of the conference is the goal of gender parity in the world of classical music. The conference focusses on concert program planning and advocacy for women composers and conductors.

Partner institutions for the conference are the Musikhochschule München, the Carl-Orff-Zentrum, the Kulturreferat München, the Mariann Stegmann-Foundation and the GEMA-Stiftung (among others)
