To help reduce fatal opioid overdoses in our region, CMHPSM distributes naloxone rescue kits within the region to trained organizations for use internally and further distribution to trained community members. In FY23, CMHPSM distributed 155% more naloxone than FY21 and FY22 combined, supplying 3,483 naloxone kits. Naloxone is also available free to organizations through an MDHHS Naloxone Portal, which expands the region’s capacity for saving lives. Since its launch in 2020, naloxone orders from Region 6 have steadily grown. In FY23, 28,824 boxes of naloxone were ordered by organizations in our region, with a grand total of 51,300 boxes of naloxone made available to individuals in the last 3 years.
