What's been happening?

Work has been progressing, albeit a little slower due to COVID-19. The output of the workforce has been affected by social distancing. This has meant that the workers have been unable to travel to site together by mini-bus as they usually would and they are having to take their breaks separately, all of which is having a knock-on effect on the works.

Much of the work undertaken to date has been site clearance. This has included:

  • Removal of the top layers of soil
  • Removal of kerbs
  • Removal of Westmead roundabout
  • Disposal of excavated material off site
  • Exposing of utility apparatus in preparation for the utility companies to undertake their diversionary work. Due to COVID-19, this has not taken place in the timeframe that we expected

What's happening next?

Next, the contractor plans to carry out drainage works including the installation of new gullies.

Safety on site - please be aware

It has become apparent that some members of the public have been entering and travelling through the site. This is a live construction site and fenced off for the safety of the public. Please do not enter it under any circumstances.
