Work has been progressing, albeit a little slower due to COVID-19. The output of the workforce has been affected by social distancing. This has meant that the workers have been unable to travel to site together by mini-bus as they usually would and they are having to take their breaks separately, all of which is having a knock-on effect on the works.
Much of the work undertaken to date has been site clearance. This has included:
- Removal of the top layers of soil
- Removal of kerbs
- Removal of Westmead roundabout
- Disposal of excavated material off site
- Exposing of utility apparatus in preparation for the utility companies to undertake their diversionary work. Due to COVID-19, this has not taken place in the timeframe that we expected
