For over a decade I have worked in education ranging from finance, workforce training development and team building. I pride myself on my strengths: relator, strategic, disciplined and deliberative. As the Director of the Corporate Work Study Program, I am responsible for the overall operation of the Corporate Work Study Office. I lead the Corporate Work Study team in fulfilling goals and duties integral to the work of the program. I am a proud alum of Immaculate Conception Academy prior to its transition to the Cristo Rey Network. I chose to be a part of the ICA Cristo Rey community because it aligns with my drive and focus to provide opportunities to the next generation.

I am originally from Pacifica, and attended high school at St. Ignatius College Prep. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Organizational Communications from California State University, Stanislaus. I began working at ICA at the start of the 2016-17 school year. My responsibilities include working with Sponsor Companies and facilitating the Curriculum for Corporate Work Study. My professional experience includes Management, Sales, Marketing and Customer Service. I enjoy helping students develop the skills and habits that they will need to achieve their professional goals and find happiness in their careers! In my free time, I enjoy going to the beach and hiking with my wife and three sons.

¡Hola! I'm Marlene Gutierrez, and my journey is one defined by breaking barriers, fearlessly entering new life paths, and serving the communities that once helped raise me. As a proud Latina who opened a new door as the first in my family to navigate the hardships of the first-gen college experience, I'm fiercely dedicated to empowering others to follow in these footsteps. My roots run deep in communities that are often underserved, but that also run strong with a passion for change and progress. For the past three years, I've had the privilege of serving the ICA community, initially joining as a Mercy Volunteer. Today, I'm honored to serve as the Program Manager of the Corporate Work Study Program. Together, we're painting a future where our students rise and thrive, not just in spite of their backgrounds, but because of them.
